# Fines + Bonds

Who's been a naughty Captain?

When you're facing hard times and you ain't got loot / salvage to sell to pay your fines, then you can always rely on the Bonds Department to bail you out ... for a price.

You can avoid that nasty [**Debtors Debuff**](/defverse-nft/sg/game-design/the-justice-system/debtors-debuff.md) by taking out a bond which will cover the full amount of the fine imposed by the GEA.   You will agree to repay the loan back with interest.   Repayments will be taken from the player automatically based upon any income received through in-game activities, until the loan is fully repaid.\

Players may also purchase a [**Fine Suspension Token**](/defverse-nft/sg/the-financial-stuff/payment-options/soft-currency.md) for a small amount of **SpaceBux** which will void all monies owed, remove the [**Debtors Debuff**](/defverse-nft/sg/game-design/the-justice-system/debtors-debuff.md) , and remove any other NPC cooldowns / reputation losses usually incurred, immediately.
