The Basic Idea

Space Guardians was originally designed to be a vertical scrolling shooter like many you've seen before such as Everwing, Galaxy Attack, and Star Defender. However, after much deliberation we decided to re-think our design. We agreed that adding other elements to the game such as an inventory system, multiple control types, and I think more prominently, adopting the top down camera angle, and the free-roam style gameplay, we coined the term "hybrid space shooter" to describe our game.

Space Guardians implements some of the most popular elements from a range of game genres with the aim of being a strategic, skill-based space shooter with combined RPG, MOBA, and ARCADE elements.

Space Guardians is designed primarily for mobile devices and tablets however there will also be desktop (pc/laptop) and console versions (Xbox / PlayStation / Nintendo). The games multiplayer services are intended to be cross-platform compatible allowing players from all devices to play seamlessly with each other powered by the Unity Games Engine, Photon, and Azure PlayFab dedicated server services.
