Fleet Abilities

With great responsibility comes great power.

Yeah yeah, we know, that's not how that goes ... but in this case, it's completely relevant. As you develop your fleet and gain fleet ranks, you unlock special fleet ability slots which allow your War Commander to assign skills which may benefit the fleet, to be used by command units during combat encounters.

COMMAND UNITS

War Commanders or their appointed battle lieutenants are the only units that do not have to spawn or engage directly in combat. However, command units may choose to engage in combat and their participation, can really turn the tide of battle.

As you increase your fleet level, command units gain access to Fleet Abilities which can be used to buff all allied field units / deploy defensive units to assist in the battle, and even call in weapon support from your fleet carrier.

WAR COMMANDER

In WAR, one player must be appointed as war commander before the match begins. This commander is chosen by officers of the fleet and can be ANY player who is rostered for that match.

A war commandersโ€™ role is to offer tactical support to the team via the War Commander Console. Since the commander is not required to enter the battlefield during the fight, they can opt to sit in safety and coordinate strategic plays which are relayed to each players communication panel which is reflected in real-time to each player, respectively.

Players are not required to follow orders, however, itโ€™s probably a smart idea to do so. Teamwork makes the dream work.

BATTLE LIEUTENANT

It may be necessary for a War Commander to enter the field and assist his fleet in battle. Before he enters the field, the War Commander may invite a fleet member to act as his Battle Lieutenant as he engages the enemy. A Battle Lieutenant is a unit that is temporarily granted access to the War Commander Console to help assist the War Commander during an intense battle.

WAR COMMANDER CONSOLE

The War Commander Console offers a real-time view of the battlefield and highlights points of interest which may be used to develop advanced strategies to overwhelm the enemy team as the battle ensues.

Using their wits to outsmart the enemy, the War Commander must be aware of developments as they happen. The commander will be given advanced warning of incoming special anomalies, mini-tasks, and objectives moments before theyโ€™re announced to the rest of the players on the battlefield. This gives them a short time to coordinate their efforts and choose their plan of attack.

The chosen commander must have a stable connection to be eligible for the position, and is best controlled by a player who is using a Desktop PC / Laptop. This allows for much better visibility of the battlefield. The commander has access to a scout drone which can be used to view the battlefield safely and allows targeting of enemy and objectives as they appear. The PC version of the game also allows a more extensive set of controls which makes selecting objects and commanding their fleet, much easier.
