Social Events

There to lend a helping hand .... maybe.

Social events encourage other players who are currently viewing menu screens, are in pre-game lobbies, or are otherwise playing the game but are not actively engaged in combat themselves, to interact with each other.

One type of social event that players can engage in, is a Social Support Request.

SOCIAL SUPPORT REQUEST

While playing the game there may be opportunities for the player to call in support from other online players. Through use of a Social Support Token or upon activation of certain security beacons which can be accessed via in-play mission objectives, players who are struggling with a specific piece of content may activate a social support request.

A social support request is particularly helpful when a player may have been downed by an enemy / mini-boss or are critically injured. This type of request offers the player an opportunity to revive / seek momentary support to assist them when they need it most.

No Promises

It’s super important to understand that social events are not guaranteed to reap a positive outcome. The fate of the request lies solely on the player who receives it. They have the option to jeopardise/reject the request or simply ignore it. This might incur a heavy cost to the player who activated the request, who will receive a debuff, causing them to take MORE damage from all sources for a short time after gameplay resumes.

Repercussions

Just remember, as the recipient of a social support request, you have the power to help or hinder. You need to understand that your decision will be immediately apparent to the player who requested your assistance. They will also receive your details and may choose to get some payback on you in the near future for your lack of cooperation. Beware the wrath of the angry kitty!
