Lein Laenna is an Elf cat from Snowy Cove. She is one of the second playable character limited theme editions in the DEFVERSE cosmos. All her life, Lein Laenna grew up inside the cave of the Snowy Cove, where they lived in peace along with her clan. The vital role of being the heir hindered her from seeing the outside world beyond the snowy mountains. As she gazes through a window, only vast hectares of trees would her eyes catch sight upon. Although she wanted to be contented with her life, she couldn't help but yearn for more, a destiny different from what she has now. Hundreds of other Elf cats lived with them inside the enormous cave their ancestors' dugout. It was their responsibility to preserve the place for the next generation to come.

The Elf cats were known as sensitive creatures; they lived in the deep parts of the snowy regions to avoid the heat and light of the sun. During the Noel season, they grabbed the opportunity to go out and join other cat races in celebration. It was a time of thanksgiving, a tradition that offers gifts to one another, especially to the three gods of the DEFVERSE cosmos.

Lein was taken care of by her grandpa Felix, the chief of the Elf cats since she became an orphan at a young age. As the remaining successor of the Royal family of the Noels, Felix stood as her guardian and teacher, preparing her for the throne she was expected to have. Felix is a great man of values and leadership who greatly influences their clan's growth; he once learned it from an old friend, the Lillystorms. In the kingdom of Aerawatch, the lines of Noels and Lillystorms used to live together in harmony. Like a brother in arms, did they succeed and prosper together. However, a misunderstanding resulted in a heated argument; even a place couldn't contain the growing numbers both had. Against their wills, the Noels left to find a place that they could call home, the Snowy Cove, where no one would ever bother them anymore.

THE REIGN OF KING NOEL

In the lineage of the Noels, King Noel was an extraordinary man of his generation. Challenged by various situations, he remained fearless for his people and overcame each obstacle that would come. Being the current ruler of the Elf cats, setting an example for his people to follow was not easy; one still had doubts about himself. He felt the weight of his position as the king, the frailty inside of him trying to dishearten his spirit. It was a matter of choice that he continued to lead his people regardless of the fears in his heart. It was when his people needed him the most, their king, and he couldn't bear to let his people be dismayed.

Despite the unfamiliar place they had moved into, he was able to lead his clan to prosperity and solace while still enjoying the season's warmth. Although they are constrained inside the castle walls, separated from the Elf cats, King Noel made every moment memorable for his people and family. It took him not long to establish a tradition of thanksgiving wherein gifts would be offered to one another as a sign of gratitude and devotion. In honor of their king, it was named after him, who brought joy despite the diversity between other cat races. In one of Neko Sekai's best-known celebrations, everyone feasted food, exchanged gifts, and played music inside the caves.

In exchange for the gifts the Elf cats would offer to the three gods, they too would acquire something in return for all the kindness they had portrayed. As the gods were pleased with the king's efforts, they blessed them every season celebration. During the reign of King Noel, he had sowed a plant of kindness that continued to bloom unto this day. Even many years later, the tradition under his name spread unto Neko Sekai and has influenced a lot of cat races to do the same. A man unto this day is known for what he has established and brought honor to his name.

THE HERITAGE OF THE ROYAL FAMILY

King Noel made sure to leave a testament; the elf cats should remain merry and jovial no matter what happens. He was brave to face the upcoming challenges of their clan, together with his loving wife and the son to be born. Their life was peaceful, and at this point, nothing could go wrong. They have made progress to make the Elf cats rise again to the top, as the most blessed cat race. However, when one's guard has been let down, enemies from afar would strike while the iron is hot. Things went by so fast that in the blink of their eyes, the great ruler they adored had fallen.

When King Noel has breathed his last, the whole clan felt the loss of their great ruler. The once festive and joyful Noel season has now been filled with dread and agony. His people mourn his body; tears filled the ground where such snow comforted them with the cold wind. Still, the king smiled happily on his deathbed, feeling contented and grateful. His death was unexpected, and some say, the wine he had drunk from came from an old enemy, the Lillystorms. It broke the queen's heart while holding their child in her arms; it pains her to see the son is the spitting image of her late husband. She only did what she thought was better for her child's welfare, sending him away to her brother Felix. The queen did her best to rule her people, but the stress made her vulnerable to the control of evil spirits.

Thus, all of it went to nothing as what the king had established slowly died out. The elf cats grew tired of celebrating the Noel season; the gifts they offered to the gods before have now stopped. Everything they built from scratch, the castle, or even each villagers' house, had already worn out. The influence of the Noels was abolished as they now lived in peace without a ruler to guide them.

THE DESCENDANTโ€™S RESOLUTION

Things degenerated since the late king's wife, Queen Lliana, inherited the throne by betrothal. The queen halted the once-a-year Noel season celebration, resulting in the blessing of the three gods to cease. Even connections with other cat races were forbidden as they were restricted from exploring other territories. No one really knew the reason behind the sudden changes except grandpa Felix who kept his mouth shut until this day. Some did say that she was possessed by greed that forced her to abandon her child, Lein's father. Still, many years have passed since the queen finally died of old age, and the damage to the Elf cats' reputation was irreparable. Nobody dared to lead a change; stuck in the past, did they give up for someone to step up and guide them.

Lein Laenna witnessed the downfall of her clan, the once reputed cat race as most blessed has fallen. All their efforts to make the Elf cats rise again had been in vain; the light of hope that filled each heart has flickered and perished. Getting back on track may be impossible at this point; however, giving up is not an option. Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces encourages her to try again; maybe it is the blood in her veins that refuses to surrender. The fire of determination is evident in her eyes as it intensifies her passion for striving more. She may not be as great as King Noel; the future of her clan still relies on her now. She won't let the children experience the hardships of her past; their innocent minds would not be tainted by sorrow like hers. Being an orphan has taught her to be fervid for others. She is now responsible for protecting the most people she treasures; as the future queen of the Elf cats, she won't let her people down.
