Territories

You're all set, you're done bragging to your peers about your magnificent new space craft and you're just itching to get out there and litter the battle fields with the debris of your shattered enemy?

The next step in the Fleet process is to control some territory of your own.

Territories

Once you have command over your Fleet Carrier you will now be able to view the star system and it's territories. Each territory is clearly mapped out via the System Map which can be found in the Fleet tab of the game. Here you can view several important pieces of information which you'll need before you decide to grease those engines and engage that shiny new warp drive of yours.

System Map

The system map contains all of the information about the system. It outlines who currently controls each territory in the system, where their allegiance lies (allied factions), whether or not they're player controlled or NPC territories, and distance to that territory among other things.

Using the system map you can strategically devise a plan to attack and conquer territories. When successful you will now own that territory and will gain valuable resources and income from it which will be needed to help maintain your fleet, build defences, and prepare yourself for future encounters.

Step Three: Time To Fight!

Once you have your fleet carrier, you've gotten to grips with the system map, and you've planned your battle strategies in preparation for system domination ... it's time to ready your forces and engage your enemy.

Your fleet commander will assign several targets of interest and may systematically engage each individual target, with the aim of defeating the forces that currently reside there. Once you defeat all forces in a territory, you will now control that territory.

To engage in these battles, you must enlist your fleet via the WAR game mode. Here you can choose the territory you wish to contest. You will then have a set window of time to attack that target (if NPC held), or will be engaged in a PvP battle with a dedicated time-slot, where you will fight against your player-controlled foe.

Territory will not be considered "controlled" unless you have depleted all defensive forces and have beaten the player-controlled / NPC faction during this battle. When the defensive force count of a territory reaches ZERO, the territory becomes protected for a short time and cannot be attacked by anyone while control is handed over to the victorious fleet.
